I know I’m not the only one loving the latest Scream (2022) movie and excited for the next! But it definitely makes me nostalgic for the original. It’s only been, what, 20 to 30 years since the 90s and yet we see a lot of the styles they all wore back then making a comeback today. From claw clips to Birkenstocks, you can definitely do some snooping in your mom or dad’s dressers or closets.
Sidney Prescott’s (Neve Campbell) classic denim look
Let’s face it, denim jackets have never gone out of style. If you don’t have one in your closet yet, then it’s definitely time to get one. The great thing about denim jackets is that they’re versatile and can just go with virtually anything. It’s definitely an essential item that can be used any season.
Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell, sports a classic mid-wash denim jacket that’s typically easy to find. This type of denim jacket can be worn by any age group whereas the lighter shades of blue to white tend to be more trendy and can be more popular with the younger demographic.
Depending on where you shop, the price of one jacket could go as high as 50 quid. So of course, thrifting is always the best solution. Traditional types of denim can last years with good care. So getting good quality denim jackets at secondhand shops is quite common.
Tatum Riley’s (Rose McGowan) yellow and orange ensemble
Sidney’s best friend, Tatum, adds a splash of color like the typical popular girl does in 90s or early 2000s movies — shoutout to my girl Cher from Clueless!
Tatum’s printed skirt paired with a yellow turtleneck is a stark contrast to the rest of the cast’s costumes. The layered black jacket is a great addition to hide some blood in case she dies. I say “in case” because I’m not gonna spoil it for you! So watch the movie if you haven’t already.
The yellow turtleneck and the black jacket might be easier to shop secondhand. The printed skirt on the other hand won’t exactly be the same. But, remember that we’re only trying to take inspiration from these looks. So a printed skirt such as this one we found on Loma would be a cute substitute.
Billy Loomis’ (Skeet Ulrich) casual 90s boy-next-door style
This look really isn’t hard to do. In fact, there are still guys who wear this style now, but they’re just missing that classic 90s one-length Nick Carter haircut. It’s a pretty casual look that Billy really enhanced with his boy-next-door features.
All you need to pull off this style is a plain light blue polo shirt, a white undershirt, and a pair of classic blue jeans. It’s really up to you if you want to do the one-length hair too.
Casey Becker’s (Drew Barrymore) cream jumper and denim outfit
A cute jumper is a classic fall and winter essential. When you pair it with a pair of light denim, you get that laidback Casey Becker look. I mean it’s important to be comfy while you’re running away from a bloodthirsty murderer, right?
It also might be a good time to bingewatch some horror movies in case someone decides to quiz you on some Friday the 13th trivia. Here’s a list of all the movies you might want to catch this spooky season to get you into that Halloween mood.
The cream jumper is a great pair for the light jeans. It’s also very easy to look for an off-white jumper, cardigan, or sweater because of how classic a piece it is.
These 90s pieces will definitely get you SCREAM-ing for more. So if you want to shop their looks for less, then head on over to lomasearch.com for great items at the best prices. Enjoy the spooky season! Don’t die!
